Stories that follow you home

ScotLore isn't just tours. It's Scotland's myths and mysteries brought to life across every platform. Short films, deep dives, and tales that make you check over your shoulder on the walk home.

YouTube

Long-form documentaries exploring Scotland's strangest mysteries. The stories that deserve more than a two-minute clip.

TikTok & Reels

Quick, atmospheric clips from the closes and graveyards. The kind of content that makes 2am scrolling a bad idea.

Instagram

Moody photography, tour highlights, and the hidden corners of Edinburgh that most visitors walk past without a second glance.

"The wynds remember what the history books forgot. Every cobblestone, every shadow, every draft of cold air in a room that should be warm. These are Scotland's real stories."

Your Scotland,
Your Story

Forget the script. We build your tour around what you actually want to see — whether that's Edinburgh's hidden closes, Jacobite battlefields, or the misty glens of the Highlands. Every detail tailored to you.

What is a Bespoke Tour?

A bespoke tour is exactly what it sounds like: your tour, built from scratch. No fixed route, no shared group, no rushed stops. You tell us what fascinates you — we design the day around it.

We've taken couples through the lanes where Burke and Hare stalked their victims, guided families to standing stones older than the pyramids, and led small groups into parts of Edinburgh that most locals have never seen.

Who It's For

  • Individuals who want depth over breadth
  • Couples celebrating something worth remembering
  • Families with children who need the stories brought to life
  • Groups up to 20 — corporate, school, or private
  • Anyone who's done the standard tours and wants something real

How It Works

You send us an enquiry with your group size, dates, and what you're drawn to. We come back with a suggested itinerary and a quote. You shape it. We refine it. Then we go.

No automated booking system. No payment until you're happy with the plan. Just a conversation between you and someone who knows Scotland's stories better than most.

Pricing

Price is on application — it depends on group size, duration, locations, and complexity. Half-day Edinburgh bespoke tours start from around £150 for a couple. Full-day and multi-location tours priced accordingly. Use the form to get a quote.

Where Nobody
Else Will
Take You

Guided expeditions to the places that require genuine effort to reach. These aren't tourist stops. They're places that are remote because they've always been remote — and that's exactly the point.

The Old Forge Pub, Knoydart Peninsula

Coming Soon — Price TBC

The Old Forge is officially the most remote pub on mainland Britain. It sits in Inverie, a tiny village on the Knoydart Peninsula in the Scottish Highlands. There is no road connecting it to the rest of Scotland. The only way in is on foot or by boat.

Getting there is half the story. But the other half — a cold pint in a pub that has no business being there, surrounded by mountains that haven't changed since the last ice age — is something you don't forget.

Ways to Reach Knoydart

On Foot via Kinloch Hourn 25km hike along the shores of Loch Hourn. Challenging, spectacular, unforgettable. Roughly 7–8 hours.
On Foot via Glenfinnan 42km traverse through the Rough Bounds — one of Scotland's most demanding wilderness routes. Multi-day.
By Boat from Mallaig 9km passenger ferry crossing from Mallaig. The accessible option — still spectacular, still remote.
Location Knoydart, Highland
Access No road access
Hiking Option 25km from Kinloch Hourn
Boat Option 9km from Mallaig

What to Expect

  • Expert guide with local knowledge of Knoydart's history
  • Full route planning and logistics handled for you
  • Stories of the Knoydart clearances and the peninsula's remarkable past
  • A genuinely remote Highland experience — not a tourist trail
  • A pint at the most remote pub on mainland Britain
